Top FL S/WR intends to make official visit to UL

Eric Sledge, one of the top safety/wide receiver prospects in the state of Flordia, has scholarship offers from several SEC and ACC powers but says he intends to take an official visit to Louisville this fall.

Eric Sledge was a standout on the southern camp circuit this summer and he's picked a up a ton of offers as a result. Who's he looking at now?

"I'm pretty much just wide open. I'll start from the north and work my way back to the south; Michigan, Michigan State, West Virginia, Ohio State, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Alabama, Louisville, Kentucky, Florida, Miami and Florida State. All of them have offered me but some of it is verbal," Eric Sledge said.

Does Eric have any teams that he knows will get an official visit for sure?

"I'm going to Louisville and Ohio State probably. Since the Florida schools and some in the south are close, I may just take unofficials to those places."

Who has called Sledge since September began?

"Louisville called me first. I've also talked to Miami, Ohio State and South Carolina. I've been gone from the Hurricane's a lot but my grandmother said a ton of people had been calling, I just missed them."

Which games will he attend this Fall?

"I'm going to Florida vs. LSU and Miami vs. Florida hopefully. I'd also like to go to Georgia Tech vs. Georgia."

What is he looking for most in a school?

"I'm looking at the graduation percentage. I've also been an underdog my whole life. I'd play football in the yard with the middle school kids when I was 5 years old and I never sat on the sidelines. What I'm trying to say is that I don't want to redshirt unless I have to."

Due to the recent storms in Florida, Apopka High School has yet to begin their 2004 football season. Their game tonight has also been cancelled due to their opponent being devastated by Hurricane Frances as well.
