Stephen Garr enjoys Saturday visit

Stephen Garr enjoyed his unofficial visit to Louisville on Saturday.

On Saturday, Stephen Garr of Louisville Male High School made his second unofficial visit to Louisville and looked on as the Cardinals soundly defeated visiting East Carolina 59-7.

"I knew it was going to be a blowout," Garr said.

Garr, who currently holds an offer from Louisville, met with the coaches before and after the contest, visiting with assistants, Joe Whitt and Greg Nord.

"We talked about how they looked out there and how well they played," Garr explained. "We talked about all the usual stuff too."

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound defensive back, who also plays receiver at Male, has seen interest from other programs pick up lately.

"Miami of Ohio and Miami both called recently and I'm going up to Purdue for their game against Michigan in a couple weeks," said Garr.

While Louisville may lead for his services, Garr doesn't sound as if he is in a hurry to make a decision.

"I've talked [with the coaches] about an official visit a couple times. I'll probably take one to Louisville in early January."

Garr and his Male Bulldogs return to action this weekend against 5-1 Butler. "It's a must win," said Garr.
