L.D. Scott likes possibilities at Louisville

Louisville assistant Joe Whitt Jr. recently spoke with defensive tackle prospect L.D. Scott about the Cardinals performance against Miami and the potential for him at U of L.

A few weeks ago, InsidetheVille.com reported that Auburn (AL) High School defensive tackle prospect L.D. Scott had narrowed his college choices. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound lineman listed Louisville, along with Auburn, Mississippi State and Southern Miss as his current leaders.

Scott also informed ITV that he'd be making an official visit to Louisville the weekend of December 17th, which would include attending the Cardinals basketball contest against rival Kentucky.

"I'm excited about coming up...it should be fun," Scott said on Sunday evening.

With U of L among his favorites, Scott had his eye on the Cardinals game against Miami last Thursday, to see how the program stacked up against the nation's 3rd-rated program.

"I thought they whooped them up for most of the game," Scott explained. "They had them until near the end when the defense started to get tired."

In a telephone conversation with Louisville assistant Joe Whitt Jr., Scott learned how he can make a difference in a future game like that.

"Coach Whitt told me that is why he needs me to come to Louisville," said Scott. "He said that they only have a couple of guys to play in that spot, so I could make a difference. I liked hearing that."

While Coach Whitt would like to hear that Scott would like to be a Cardinal, he'll have to wait for awhile.

"I'm going to focus on my season for the rest of the year," explained Scott. "I want to see Louisville before I can make a decision."
