Nolan Carroll setting visit to Louisville

Wide receiver and safety prospect Nolan Carroll of Clay (FL) High School is in the process of confirming the date of his official visit to Louisville, which will likely occur following the new year.

"I'm going to visit UCF (12/3), Maryland (12/17), Ole Miss (1/14) and I'm trying to set up one for Louisville (1/21)," said Carroll. "Coach [Paul] Petrino should call me this week and I will get it set up."

While the Cardinals strong run through their first seven games of the 2004 season, reaching No.12 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 has certainly helped U of L's efforts, Carroll is quick to admit that one current Cardinal, true freshman Terrance Butler, is helping make a difference as well.

"You could say that Terrance & I kind of grew up together," explained Carroll. "We've known each other since the seventh grade. He has been telling me a lot of things about Louisville and how Coach Paul Petrino works with his receivers."

With his visits beginning in early December, Carroll also admits that he may not wait to make all of his trips before making a decision.

"If I like a place I might go ahead and commit," continued Carroll. "It's not likely that I'd commit somewhere without visiting though."

NOTE: Carroll also informed ITV that Clay High School teammate Tommie Williams is also strongly considering the Cardinals.
