WR Trenton Guy has Louisville offer

Trenton Guy, also a standout track prospect, of West Charlotte (NC) High School has an offer from Louisville and is close friends with current Cardinal freshman Rod Council.

The University of Louisville coaching struck gold at West Charlotte (NC) High School with 2004 late signee Rod Council and it appears that they are hoping to uncover even more in the Class of '05 with Trenton Guy.

Guy, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver, defensive back prospect with great speed, has drawn the interest from a number of programs, not only for his talents on the football field, but also for his abilities on the track.

"North Carolina and Louisville have offered me and I talk to NC State a lot," said Guy. "Clemson and Cal are both interested in me for track."

Despite running an impressive 4.4 in the forty, Guy quickly mentions that he can do better.

"I had a hurt hamstring when I was timed, so I believe I can run faster than that," Guy explained.

For Guy, who describes his type of play to that of Miami receiver Roscoe Parrish, his relationship with Louisville freshman cornerback Rod Council has helped the Cardinals climb near the top of his list of favorites.

"I look at him as an older brother," explained Guy. "He helped me out a lot last year. I missed some practice because I was doing track and he would help to get caught up with everything. He says that he likes it there."

Guy, who has taken multiple unofficial visits to North Carolina, hopes to schedule official trips to both UNC and Louisville in the near future and he has an idea of what he'll be looking for while on visits.

"I want to see what majors they offer and how I will get along with the team," Guy said. "It's important that I feel comfortable there during my visits, so that way I will know what to expect."
