Two teams top Kuntz's list

3-star prospect Patrick Kuntz of Roncalli (IN) High School currently lists two programs at the top of his list and he provided an update to's Allen Wallace on Thursday evening.

Indiana DE Patrick Kuntz (6-3, 255, 4.8, 3 stars) says both Louisville and Michigan State (11/10 official trip) lead solidly over Indiana, Duke and Northwestern.

"I really got a good feeling on my trip to Michigan State and I also really like Louisville. They're tied as my leaders right now," says Kuntz, from Indianapolis Roncalli.

"The trip that I took to Michigan State was awesome. I picked a good weekend to come. They have a great campus--and some great academics too. It answered all my questions in the whole football area.

"They beat Wisconsin pretty handily. I think they could definitely be Big Ten champs if a couple plays went a little differently for them. My host was Tom Kaczmarec (OT). He took me around and showed me a bit of what their campus environment is like. It was cool being there and seeing how so many people reacted to the win and their different games. And we basically just hung out with his buddies.

"The highlight of the experience was seeing the game and the whole atmosphere around the game. I really like how that team plays together. I got to talk with coach (John L.) Smith one-on-one, and coach (Steve) Stripling (DLs) as well. I really like them. I could see myself playing for them someday. And I like their attitudes. I told them I'm going to make my decision on a commit around Christmas.

"Michigan St really gets at it. They are an aggressive team with a lot of athletes. I think I could get some early playing time on their DL. I like the way their DLs make plays.

"Louisville is going to the Big East next year. And they have a chance for a national championship. They've also got a lot of young athletes. If you go there and you can play ball, you'll play. I like their aggressiveness and it's a great town down there."

Kuntz will also officially visit Duke (12/3), Indiana (12/10), Louisville (12/18) and Northwestern.

SR (11-2) stats: 84 tackles/21 TFL/1 INT/3 FC/ 1 FR/13 sacks

During last week's game, Kuntz broke Roncalli's record for career sacks, previously 24.5. 25.5 is Kuntz' record now.
