Tallahassee DB scheduling visits

Louisville offensive coordinator Paul Petrino spoke with Rickards (FL) High School defensive back prospect Kent Richards earlier this week.

Louisville assistant Paul Petrino is attempting to return to the fruitful recruiting well of Tallahassee, Florida, where he and the Cardinals coaching staff have had success since arriving a couple years ago.

One of the numerous targets in the Florida panhandle is Rickards High School Kent Richardson, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back with 4.5-40 speed.

"I have offers from West Virginia, Alabama, Iowa State and Louisville right now," Richardson told Inside the Ville. "They are all even right now, so I want to take my trips to help me decide."

Richadson currently has two official visits scheduled, a December 3rd trip to West Virginia and a December 10th trip set for Alabama.

"I plan on taking all five of my visits before making a decision," continued Richardson. "I'll probably visit Louisville and Iowa State too."

"I want to see the facilities and academic programs for all the schools," explained Richardson. "I also want to find out how quick I could get on the field. I want to play some as a true freshman."

Richardson also told ITV that UofL offensive coordinator Paul Petrino called earlier this week and that he hears regularly from coaches from Iowa State, Notre Dame, Alabama and West Virginia.

"[Head] Coach Rodriguez from West Virginia actually calls me a lot too," added Richardson.

Richardson, who could play either cornerback or safety in college, recorded 75 tackles and 6 interceptions during his senior season.
