Sen'Derrick Marks "narrowing options down"

The defensive line prospect from Alabama is in the process of narrowing his list of schools and scheduling official visits.

Sen'Derrick Marks of Vigor (AL) High School has lengthy list of schools making strong pitches for his services and the 6-foot-1, 265-pound defensive line prospect told Inside the Ville that he has reached the point to where he needs to start narrowing his options.

"I didn't realize until recently that I only got five official visits, so I'm narrowing things down right now," Marks explained. "I haven't really thought about what schools I'll visit yet, but I'm going to start doing that."

Schools among his list include Louisville, Alabama, Southern Miss, Auburn, Central Florida, West Virginia, as well as others. Louisville, West Virginia, Southern Miss and Central Florida have all extended scholarship offers.

"I hear from Coach Whitt Jr from Louisville," said Marks. "I know he wants me to visit, so I'll think a lot about that. I saw them play on t.v. earlier this year."

With his team continuing its run into the state playoffs, Marks won't likely begin taking his trips until the end of the year and the start of 2005.

"I'll probably take most of my visits at the end of December and in January," continued Marks. "I don't know what I'm going to be majoring in yet, but I want to see the school's education programs. I also want to see everyone's facilities and to find out if I will have an opportunity to play as a true freshman."

While most expect Marks to play at the defensive tackle position, he did mention that some consider him a defensive end, but that his eventual position won't matter much.

"If I play defensive tackle or defensive end it doesn't matter," Marks said. "I'll just do whatever it takes to get on the field."
