Boyd Reconsiders, Won't Visit UK

After considering an invitation made by Kentucky head coach Rich Brooks during an in-home visit, Louisville commit Blake Boyd has decided against making the trip to Lexington.

Just hours after Louisville's 28-0 pounding of visiting rival Kentucky on September 5th, broke the news that Madisonville's Blake Boyd had committed to U of L head coach Bobby Petrino prior to season opener.

During our interview with Boyd at that time, he made the following comment about his decision. "That's where my heart was and I felt that it is where I wanted to be."

After considering an invitation to make an official visit to Kentucky, made by UK head coach Rick Brooks and assistant coach Michael Gray during an in-home visit early last week, Boyd told ITV that he won't be making the trip.

"I'm not going," Boyd said. "I just don't feel the need to visit. I just don't have any desire to."

Boyd then echoed a similar statement as he did when he committed to the Cardinals.

"Louisville's in my heart," continued Boyd, who will make his official visit to U of L in January. "That is where I want to be."

Boyd, who was recently named First Team All-State, received an in-home visit from U of L assistant Tony Levine on Sunday and will likely receive a visit from head coach Bobby Petrino next week.
