Kuntz will decide after visiting U of L

Indianapolis' Patrick Kuntz, Scout.com's No. 50 defensive line prospect in the nation, will visit the University of Louisville this weekend and says he'll anounce his college decision shortly after visiting the U of L campus.

Indianapolis (Roncalli High School) defensive end Patrick Kuntz has had a busy fall. Not only is Kuntz being heavily recruited by Michigan State, Duke, Louisville, and Indiana, but he also helped his Roncalli Rebels win their third straight state championship.

Kuntz finished the season with 14 sacks, 118 tackles with 27 for a loss and an interception.

He visited Duke last weekend, and felt very positive about the visit. Kuntz said, "I was very impressed with Duke. They have new facilities, basically new everything. The academics are obviously there, but they are an up and coming team."

Kuntz visited Michigan State in early November and was very impressed with them as well. He is listing MSU, Duke, and Louisville as his favorites, and is set to visit Louisville on Dec. 17.

So what happened to Indiana? Kuntz said, "Well, Indiana was in the running, but then they fired their coach. We don't really know what the situation is there, so it doesn't seem to work out. I've canceled my visit there."

Northwestern, who was earlier listed as a consideration, is also out of the running after losing contact with Kuntz.

Louisville and Michigan State are looking for Kuntz to play defensive end, while Duke would prefer him at nose tackle. He doesn't have a preference for either position, and said he is comfortable with both.

So when will a decision come? Kuntz said, "I'll take my last visit with Louisville and then I'll be making my decision on Christmas Day."
