New offers cause Kuntz to put commit on hold

Patrick Kuntz, rated among the nation's top defensive line prospects in the nation by Scout.com, had planned on making a decision on Christmas Eve, but a few new offers made the 3-star prospect choose to wait.

Patrick Kuntz of Roncalli (IN) High School was planning on making a college decision between Louisville and Michigan State on Christmas Eve, but with two new scholarship offers in hand made him delay the decision.

"I'm going to wait a few more weeks," Kuntz told Inside the Ville on Friday morning. "Notre Dame and Boston College just offered me, so I want to check them out to make sure I make the right decision."

With what appeared to be a commitment coming, the two schools made last minute pitches to the 6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive end prospect.

"Coach Weiss called me the other night and offered me," Kuntz said of the new Notre Dame head coach. "I'm trying to get ahold of him today to set up an official visit."

While the 3-star prospect didn't provide an early Christmas present as many had hoped, fans shouldn't have to wait much longer to learn of his next destination.

"I'd say that I'll make a decision within the next three weeks."
