"These three schools are about dead even right now," says Kuntz, from Indianapolis Roncalli. "I'll have my decision on January 18. I figured I should give this about a week to let some things settle and even out about these schools.
"My trip to Notre Dame went great. I got to meet all the coaches and hang out with the guys. The coaching staff there is great and I really got to see a different perspective of Notre Dame.
"My host was John Sullivan (center). We mostly hung out at Dan Stevenson's (offensive guard) apartment and we got to talk a lot with the other hosts and other recruits. There were a lot of guys there.
"The highlight of the trip was seeing all the new stuff they're putting into the athletics complex there. They've tripled the size of their weight room, put a three-lane 50 yd track next to it, they'll have 50 inch plasma screens in the weight room, and 30 yds of artificial grass there too. Also each corner of the locker rooms will have televisions in them.
"The only negative to the trip was that there were not too many people on campus. So I didn't get the full perspective that I'd hoped for because they're all on Christmas break. I'd really like to see what it's like when they're all there.
"The coaches there know that I'm interested. They offered me the day before Christmas Eve and I was supposed to commit around then. I really gave them a chance especially with the coaching change.
"Notre Dame reminds me of my high school as far as the success the program has had and the tradition it maintains.
"I think a lot of change will take place just from talking with the coaches.
"I really like how Louisville is headed to the Big East--that's great for them. They're a great team now and they've got a lot of people coming back.
"Out of these schools, I think they have the best chance at winning a national championship.
"They've got great coaches and it's a great town. They've got the best living conditions from what I've seen and I love the atmosphere there.
"Michigan St is in the Big Ten and they've got a great atmosphere in East Lansing. It's one of the nicest stadiums that I've been in. It's got great size and capacity.
"I've got the best relationship with coach (Steve) Stripling (defensive line). They've got a great program and it's a great football town. The environment there is awesome."
Kuntz has also officially visited Duke (12/3) and Indiana (12/10).
Final SR (13-2) stats: 112 tackles/29 TFL/14 sacks/1 INT
