Careg Bonner of Huntsville (AL) High School has made two official visits, including one to Louisville and has two remaining. The tight end prospect recently spoke with ITV regarding his continued interest in the Cardinals program.
When we last spoke with tight end Careg Bonner
of Huntsville (AL) High School he was driving home from his official visit to U of L and made two things clear. First, he was going to take more official visits and second, Louisville
was his leader. Now that is almost a month since he made the trip to the River City how have things changed, if at all?
"I took a visit to Troy State and it was pretty good," Bonner said. "I still have two more visits left. I'm going to Mississippi State and Ole Miss."
Bonner, who has drawn heavy interest from programs such as Tennessee, Alabama, Nebraska, Michigan and others, appears to have limited to final list to include those that he set visits with.
"It'll probably be one of those schools," said Bonner, who is also a standout on the hardwood.
Louisville assistant Reggie Johnson, who is recruiting Bonner, has been keeping in constant touch with the 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect.
"Coach Johnson calls me every week," continued Bonner, who also made an unofficial visit to Louisville for the Cardinals season-opening 28-0 thumping of in-state rival Kentucky. "I think that he will be coming back down here next week."
So, has anything changed for atop Bonner's list, who since early December has been claiming the Cardinals as his leader?
"Louisville is still up there," Bonner said. "I like them a lot."
After recording 40 receptions for 700 yards and 6 touchdowns as a senior, Bonner rose into Scout.com's postseason Alabama Top 30, ranking as the state's 27th best prospect.
