Garcia named C-USA first team, O'Bannon snubbed

Louisville's Francisco Garcia was named First Team All-Conference USA Monday afternoon for the second consecutive year, while junior guard Taquan Dean was honored on the Third Team. However, C-USA Player the Week Larry O'Bannon was snubbed by the league's coaches and media members.

Louisville's Francisco Garcia was named First Team All-Conference Monday afternoon, joining Marquette's Travis Diener, Charlotte's Curtis Withers and Eddie Basden, and DePaul's Quemont Greer.

Garcia, who was also a first team C-USA selection last season, was joined on the All-C-USA squad by junior guard Taquan Dean. Dean was named to the league's third team.

However, despite leading the Cardinals in scoring during conference play, this week's C-USA Player the Week, Larry O'Bannon, was snubbed by the league's coaches and media members.

O'Bannon scored a career-high 33 points last Thursday against Charlotte the Cardinals 94-82 win to give Louisville the 2004-05 C-USA regular-season title. The 6-4 senior also scored 24 points Saturday to lead Louisville past DePaul 66-62 to finish 14-2 in the league.
