"We're pleased to have the opportunity during this annual tour for our staff to have personal contact with the fans that are with us all season," said Tom Jurich, Vice President and Director of Athletics at U of L. "Our fans are legendary in their support of our teams and there is a growing excitement as we move to the BIG EAST Conference this season. This Caravan is a chance for us to visit with and personally thank those that have been there for many years, as well as the growing numbers of new U of L supporters, who are passionate about Cardinal Athletics."
The Cardinal Caravan will kick off on June 6 in southern Indiana at Huber's Farm and Winery from 7-9 p.m. Selected members of the U of L coaching and support staff will also visit Jillian's in Covington, Ky. on June 7 from 6-8 p.m.; Bunbaker's in Elizabethtown, Ky. on June 8 from 5:30-7 p.m.; Mike Linnig's in southern Louisville on June 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; St. Stephen's Church in west Louisville on June 13 from 6-8 p.m.; and Kye's I in southern Indiana on June 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Among those scheduled to appear at selected stops at the free events are Jurich, men's basketball coach Rick Pitino, football coach Bobby Petrino, women's basketball coach Tom Collen and the national champion U of L cheerleaders and Cardinal Bird.
Admission to Cardinal Caravan is free to the general public, and will include free drinks, and food.
