College coaches take in action at Monday combine

The annual Jefferson County High School Football Coaches Combine was held on Monday evening at Ballard High School and there was a strong turnout among the talented area prospects, as well as with college coaches from throughout the region.

The well attended combine sent players to various tests, rotating from the 185-pound bench press, 20-yard shuttle, vertical and then the 40-yard dash on Ballard High School track.

Nearly all of the top prospects in the Louisville area participated, including Central High School's Corey Peters and Rico Neal, Fern Creek's K.J. Black, Manual's Aundre Henderson, Ballard's Garnett Phelps and Justin Jefferies of St.X.

Among the college's representated on Monday were Ball State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Louisville (Greg Nord/Paul Petrino), Kentucky, Ohio, Vanderbilt and more than a dozen area I-AA programs.
