Minton talks about Louisville offer

Late last week, Josh Minton of Pulaski Southwestern High School learned that he had received a scholarship offer from Louisville. InsidetheVille.com spoke with Minton on Wednesday about his reaction to the Cardinals offer.

While a number of colleges extended scholarship offers to Pulaski Southwestern defensive end Josh Minton, Louisville waited until it had an opportunity to see his abilities upclose. Last week, Louisville assistant Greg Nord attended the Mid-State combine at Centre College and saw enough.

Nord extended U of L's offer following a performance that saw Minton record a 4.78-40 and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.35, as well as a 30 inch vertical.

"It was pretty exciting to get an offer from the big in-state school," Minton said on Wednesday.

Louisville has joined a group that also includes Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Purdue, Virginia Tech and a handful of others as school's that have offered Minton a scholarship.

"I couldn't give any type of order of schools right now," said the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Minton. "I really don't have any favorites right now."

Despite the absence of a list of favorites, Minton was very appreciative of Louisville's offer.

"I just hope that they are as excited about me, as I'm excited about them," he said.

The Louisville coaches will have another opportunity to watch Minton up close when he camps at U of L next month. He also intends to camp at Virginia Tech and Florida and is considering attending the camps at Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
