Eugene Sowell of Shades Valley High School in Alabama, who has a scholarship offer and receives continued heavy interest from U of L assistant Joe Whitt Jr. said on Tuesday that he likes the Cardinal program.
"Coach Joe Whitt Jr came down and watched a little bit of practice and some drills," Sowell told Inside the Ville.
Sowell, who said that he is looking forward to hearing Coach Whitt's evaluation, also holds offers from Auburn, Clemson and LSU.
"LSU and Clemson both offered recently," he added.
However, he was also quick to point out that despite the impressive offers, he is no hurry to make a decision.
"I'm thinking about it a lot to myself," he continued. "I'm still pretty much open though. I don't want to jump into a decision."
He may not be in a hurry to make a decision, but the 6-foot, 205-pound back says he likes what has seen in Louisville so far.
"They're looking good...it's a great school and I could see myself liking it there," he explained. "They are never going to be a team that has a down year and will be good every year. They will be the best team in the Big East."
As a junior Sowell rushed for 1,058 yards and 20 touchdowns and he hopes to display his talents to the Cardinal coaches during their upcoming camp.
"I'm going to try to go to a few camps," Sowell said. "I'm going to try to get to the camps at LSU, Louisville, Clemson and Miami."
In addition to those that have offered, Sowell also receives frequent interest from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Tennessee and others.
