Drayton favors UofL, attending camp this weekend

Chris Drayton, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound safety/linebacker from Lakeside (GA) Evans, recently made quite an impression at the Scout.com combine in Auburn, Alabama. With offers from both Louisville and Kentucky, Drayton says the Cardinals are his favorite, and he'll attend U of L's camp this weekend. Could he be close to making a decision?

Chris Drayton was one of the standout performers at the Scout.com Combine in Auburn, Alabama a few weeks back and he currently holds two bluegrass state offers. Who might be next to jump on board?

"I still have offers from Kentucky and Louisville. Auburn, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech are also recruiting pretty hard," Chris Drayton said.

Where will he camp this summer?

"Auburn is having a camp on June 11-12 that I'm going to and I'm hoping I may get an offer then. I'm going to Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia Tech and maybe Georgia's also. Vandy is having one this Sunday but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it."

this weekend.

One team has a lead above the others at this juncture.

"My favorite schools are Louisville at the top and then Kentucky right below that," Drayton said.

Why are the Cards on top?

"I like Coach Nord," he said. "I spoke with him and we've got great communication. He just makes Louisville football sound real good."

He also likes Louisville's in-state rival - Kentucky. "I like Coach Joker Phillips a lot. He came down the last week of school and he's a character. He'll make you laugh."

Could a decision be right around the corner for Drayton?

"To be honest the recruiting process is fun and everything but I'm concentrating on my senior season."
