Darian Stewart of Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama is one possible candidate to join a Cardinal receiving corp that frequently ranks among the nation's best.
As a junior the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Stewart had 800 yards and 13 touchdowns on just 30 receptions. He also recorded 73 tackles and five interceptions from the safety position.
"I'm a physical receiver," Stewart said. "I can make the big catch and can go across the middle."
Stewart has made it clear in previous interviews with Scout.com's Andrew Bone that he has a desire to play his college ball out of state and it appears that he will have his pick of out of state schools to choose from.
"Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Marshall and Memphis are the one's recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I have offers from Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Marshall."
Louisville, who didn't seem to be present on Stewart's radar just a couple weeks ago, has made impressive strides in recent days, partially due to his friendship with current U of L defensive tackle and Lee High School graduate Amobi Okoye.
"We're pretty good friends," he said. "He calls me sometimes. He told that they were going to offer me."
With an offer now in hand, Stewart said that the Cardinal program has risen among his short list of favorites.
"My favorites right now are Tennessee, Louisville, Auburn and LSU. I've been a Tennessee fan since I was a kid so they are at the top."
While he has plans to camp at Tennessee on June 18th, he added that he will take his official visits later this year before making a decision.
Louisville has also expressed an interest in Darian's brother Jared. Jared, who quarterback's Lee's offense, will likely suit up as a receiver or safety on the college level.
