Josh Minton continues search process

Having just participated in U of L's lineman camp, Josh Minton is taking some time off to focus on his upcoming season before taking a road trip to five schools in a few weeks.

With scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and a host of others already in hand, Pulaski Southwestern defensive end prospect Josh Minton is beginning the process of finding what school's offer him the best opportunity.

Minton, a member of the South Hot 100, continued that process when he participated in Louisville's lineman camp - his only planned camp.

"I thought that I did really well," Minton said of his camp experience at U of L. "I got a chance to learn from [defensive line] Coach Wolthausen and he's a really good teacher. I also got to talk with Coach Nord."

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound athlete has also recently participated in 7-on-7 passing tournaments - as a tight end - at Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky and has one more scheduled at Western Kentucky.

"I don't mind playing tight end, but I still prefer hitting people in the mouth," he said.

While he is currently focusing on preparing for his senior campaign by spending time in the weight room and doing conditioning drills, he does have a four day road trip to five schools planned in the weeks ahead.

"We're planning on making unofficial visits to Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Virginia Tech and Kentucky in just four days," he explained. "It's just a process of seeing what's out there and finding what's available for me."

An All-State performer as a junior and a member of this year's Tremendous 26, Minton isn't ready to trim his list of school's.

"I can't really say I have a favorite yet," Minton said, adding that at this point he's not sure if distance from home will play a role in his decision.
