Brian Callahan: 'I loved it'

Don Bosco (NJ) Prep, annually one of the nation's top high school programs, sent Darius Mann and Brian Roche to Louisville during the last recruiting period. Could Brian Callahan keep the Jersey pipeline alive? The two-way standout talked with InsidetheVille.com about his unofficial visit to U of L on Thursday.

Brian Callahan of Don Bosco Prep was extended a verbal scholarship offer by the Louisville coaching staff months ago and on Thursday, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect made a visit to the Cardinals football complex to find out if everything former teammate and future Cardinal Darius Mann said was true.

"When Darius first visited he fell in love with it," Callahan told Inside The Ville on Thursday evening. "Everything he said is true - I feel the same way about it."

A first team All-County performer as a linebacker and second team All-County honoree as a receiver, Callahan, who also holds a scholarship offer from Rutgers, received a full tour of the facilities during his time at U of L.

"They have great facilities," he said. "I watched some of the guys working out on the field in the stadium. I met with Coach Wolthausen, Coach Cassity and the strength and conditioning coach while I was there. It was a great visit. I loved it."

Louisville's not alone in it's persuit of Callahan, as programs such as Boston College, Connecticut, Iowa and Wisconsin are among those that are also expressing heavy interest.

"I couldn't say right now," Callahan responded when asked about a possible timeline for his college decision. "I just don't know right now."
