"We just received number eight," said his father Aundre, Sr. on Friday. "An offer from Boston College arrived today."
Boston College now joins a group that also includes Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota and Tennessee. Programs such as Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Michigan and Notre Dame continue to remain in the mix for the 6-foot-4, 295-pound defensive line prospect.
"We're not ready to shorten the list just yet," his father explained, adding that his son may make a few more unofficial visits before Manual's season kicks off on August 19th.
Next week Henderson, along with his parents, will make another visit with the hometown Cardinals.
"We're going over there on Tuesday," he said. "We are going to meet with Coach Nord and Coach Wolthausen."
While Louisville is almost certain to make the short list once it is narrowed down, it's likely that everyone will have to wait for a few more weeks until knowing just which school's make the initial cut.
"He'll probably have it down to eight schools, made up of school's that have and haven't offered, by the start of the season," Henderson said.
For now, Henderson, a Scout.com 3-star prospect and a member of the South Hot 100, will continue rehabbing a knee strain and working his upper body. He is expected to be fully cleared by doctors prior to the start of full contact practice on August 1st.
