New voices for U of L TV coverage

Ari Wolfe (play-by-play), Doug James (football color analyst), Will Wolford (football sideline reporter), Bob Valvano (basketball color analyst) and Robbie Valentine (basketball courtside reporter) will team together during the 2005-06 to provide television coverage of University of Louisville athletics during the 2005-06 season.

WHAS TV, the official network of University of Louisville athletics, announced it's new broadcast lineup that will provide coverage of the Cardinals games during the 2005-06 season.

Ari Wolfe will handle play-by-play duties for both U of L basketball and football broadcasts. An experienced play-by-play announcer, Wolfe is the voice of the Philadelphia Soul, and Arena Football League team and has worked with Fox Sports during NFL broadcasts.

"I wanted to be a part of an amazing college athletic program," Wolfe said in an interview broadcast during WHAS' 5 PM telecast. "I think it will be a good fit for me. Louisville sounds like a place I can call home for a long time."

Doug James will join Wolfe in the booth providing color commentary during U of L football television broadcasts. A former player at the University of Michigan, James has been part of the UofL broadcast team for 15 years.

Will Wolford will provide reports from sideline during U of L football games. Wolford played 13 seasons in the NFL and is currently the owner/operator of the Louisville Fire Arena2 football team.

Bob Valvano will provide color analysis of U of L basketball games. The former basketball coach at Bellarmine University, Valvano has worked as a radio host and television analyst with ESPN since 1998.

Former U of L basketball player Robbie Valentine will be the courtside reporter for UofL basketball games. A member of the Cardinals 1986 NCAA Championship team, Valentine was a part a part of the U of L television broadcast team with FOX 41 since 1998.
