Earl Clark no longer favors 'Nova over Louisville

Earl Clark has but two schools sitting on his list this summer, although the talented 6-8 guard/forward declined to name a leader on Wednesday night at the New York City Hoop Festival presented by Verizon and Reebok.

The Rahway (N.J.) H.S. product said that he will pick either Louisville or Villanova this fall. For much of the spring and summer, Clark stated that Villanova was the clear leader for his services.

"I don't have a leader any more -- both schools are about the same," he said. "I've talked to the coaches from Louisville more and I have a better understanding of what they are trying to do."

Clark needs to do some more research on the Kentucky-based school, which is moving to the Big East this season.

"I plan on visiting Louisville so that I can go down there and see what they are talking about," he explained. "We haven't discussed any dates yet."

With Philly just an hour and a half South of Rahway, Clark has already become quite familiar with Villanova.

"I've been down there a bunch of times since the eighth grade," he said.

Clark expects to play this evening as the Playaz Basketball Club takes on the New York Gauchos in a quarterfinal round tilt. Knocking his list down to a pair has taken quite a bit of pressure off him.

"I know that of my final two schools, one will be a good choice for me," Clark said. "I really can't go wrong."
