Scout.com 4-star prospect Deantwan 'Peanut' Whitehead of Birmingham West End High School has a scholarship list that counts over thirty and while the standout defensive end isn't ready to name favorites, he told Inside The Ville that he has scheduled two official visits.

Scout.com 4-star defensive end prospect Deatwaun 'Peanut' Whitehead has a scholarship list that counts over 30 and the 6-foot-6, 245-pound Birmingham West End High School athlete isn't ready to name a list of favorites.

"I'm not ready to claim any favorites," he said. "I haven't even started thinking about narrowing my list."

While the defensive lineman have a short list, he has started setting official visits.

"I'm going to Arkansas the first weekend in December and I'm also going to Louisville, but I can't remember the date, it might be later this month, but I'm not sure right now," he explained.

With coaches able to call prospects beginning on the 1st, Whitehead said that his phone has been ringing quite a bit.

"Everybody's been calling me today. I just haven't been able to get to my phone much today, so I didn't get to talk to any of the coaches yet."

As for when a decision may come?

"It's going to come down to two schools on signing day," he said. "I'm going to wait and do it on the last day."

In his first outing this fall, Whitehead had a monster game, recording 12 tackles, including 5 for a loss and a sack. He also blocked one punt.
