Wednesday practice report and gallery

The 12th-ranked Cardinals spent time working on the fundamentals of each position during the early portion of their Wednesday afternoon prospect. Inside The Ville was on hand and returned with a few notes and photo gallery.

** The start of practice was spent focusing on the fundamentals of each position...the team's energy and focus seemed high.

** Lamar Myles was splitting time with the first unit at middle linebacker with Matt Sanders. In fact, he may have moved ahead slightly.

** Nate Harris continues to run at MLB with the 2nd group.

** Rod Council appeared to be taking more reps with the first unit and may now be ahead of Gavin Smart.

** Not really any injuries to be concerned about. CB Bobby Buchanan continues to wear a yellow jersey - meaning no contact - but he is expected back in time for the home opener. DL Earl Heyman has a minor ding, but didn't seem to effected by it and participated in most drills.

** Grayshirt JuJuan Spillman was on hand watching the team practice.

** Scouts from the St. Louis Rams & Miami Dolphins were on hand this afternoon.

** Best overheard quote. Defensive line coach Kevin Wolthausen, while conducting a drill with the Cardinal linebackers, told one following a less-than-stellar effort, "use what God gave you - strength and speed!!"
