Thursday practice notes & gallery

The energy and spirits were high as the Cardinals took the practice fields on Thursday afternoon. Once again, Inside The Ville was on hand and returned with a few notes and photos.

A few notes from the opening period of Thursday's practice. (Us media types are asked to leave after six periods.)

** Again, the majority of the early periods were spent on fundamentals and running through different drills.

** The coaches were working them extremely hard and were demanding better out of what seemed everyone.

** Lamar Myles saw even more time with the first unit at MLB.

** Nate Harris saw a few reps at MLB with the first team defense.

** William Gay, Gavin Smart and Rod Council continue to share what appears to be equal reps with the first team.

** 2nd team d-line continues to be DE Brandon Cox, DT Earl Heyman, DT Adrian Grady and DE Zach Anderson. The "ding" that Heyman had yesterday, appeared to be okay.

** Defensive coordinator Mike Cassity spent a segment working press coverage with the secondary.

** The team began working 11-on-11 about 25 minutes into practice with limited contact.

** Best overheard quote. A member of the Cardinals high-powered offense made the claim that conservative play-calling will be no more, saying, "we're to go show the real deal offense next time out!"
