Dual-threat QB has Cards among favorites

Scout.com 3-star prospect Herb Bynes is one of the top quarterback targets in the Sunshine State and Inside The Ville recently caught up with the 6'3, 215-pound athlete to discuss his young season and more.

Boyd Anderson (Fla.) High School quarterback Herb Bynes has helped his team open the season in good fashion. Following a difficult 12-9 win this weekend, Bynes and his Cobras teammates are 2-1 on year.

"Our season is going pretty good," said Bynes, who has thrown for nearly 400 yards, while also rushing for over 100 yards and 2 scores.

Bynes ability to effectively throw the ball, while also posing a threat to leave the pocket has kept opposing defenses guessing.

"I'd say I'm a dual-threat quarterback," he explained. "Defenses don't know what to expect out of me. It helps because they have to keep someone on me in case I start to run."

His ability to do both well also has many college coaches seeking his services. He recently told Scout.com that Louisville was recruiting him the hardest, while others such as Central Florida, Duke, Florida Atlantic, Kansas, Mississippi and Wisconsin have also extended scholarship offers.

"Right now UCF, Louisville, Kansas, FAU and Auburn are my top five," he said. "They are all pretty much even."

Bynes, who has said that he'd like to leave the state of Florida, plans to play out his senior season before taking any official visits.
