Henderson see's first action; talks recruiting

DuPont Manual defensive tackle prospect Aundre Henderson, who verbally committed to Minnesota in August, saw his first action of the year on Friday night. The Scout.com 3-star prospect talked with Inside The Ville about his first game performance and more.

For Aundre Henderson, the long wait is finally over. The DuPont Manual defensive tackle prospect had spent the majority of his summer recovering from a minor knee injury, which has finally paid off.

While his time on the field was still limited, the 6-foot-4, 295-pound Henderson saw his first action of the young season on Friday night when his school visited Warren Central. The All-State performer recorded 3 tackles and a sack during his time on the field.

"It felt good to be back out there," he told Inside The Ville. "I only played in the second half, but I felt pretty good. I'm probably about 90% right now."

Despite his verbal commitment to Minnesota a month ago, the Scout.com South Hot 100 member hasn't noticed a drop off with his recruiting.

"A lot of coaches have called," said Henderson, who recently received a UofL media guide signed by all of the Cardinal coaches. "Ohio State, Minnesota, Louisville, Kentucky, Boston College and some others have all called."

The 3-star prospect, who will make his official visit to Minnesota on September 23, says that he's not sure if his current commitment with the Gopher's is solid or not.

"I'm not sure, I'll know more better when I take my official visit up there," he explained.

Henderson is expected to see considerable more action this coming weekend when Manual travels to Meade County.
