Clark looks forward to creating in Cards offense

Louisville commit Earl Clark talks about his decision to play for Rick Pitino's Cardinals, and his excitement about joining 6-9 Derrick Caracter and 6-2 Edgar Sosa at U of L next season.

Russ Blake of NewYorkInsider.com, InsideTheVille.com's network affiliate in New York, spoke with the newest University of Louisville hoops recruit, 6-foot-7 ½ swingman Earl Clark of Rahway, New Jersey, about his decision to play for Rick Pitino's Cardinals next season.

Russ Blake What's it going to be like playing with Derrick Caracter and Edgar Sosa at Louisville?

Earl Clark "Derrick is a great player. He moves up the floor real good. Edgar is a great guard. It will be fun to play in the fast break with both of them. We can score a lot of points together. I would love the chance to set them up for baskets."

Clark was all smiles as he donned a
Louisville baseball cap during his press
conference Tuesday.

RB What are you working to improve this season?

EC "I want to work on getting stronger in the next year before I play next season. I think adding weight and strength will help me when I go to the basket. I also want to be more consistent with my jumper. So I plan on working on that too this season."

RB What is it about Rick Pitino's offense that you like so much?

EC "What I really liked about the Louisville offense is Coach P's letting his guards create with the ball. He also plays a three guard offense. I know I can help them out right away by creating with the ball."

RB What position will you play in college?

EC "I think I can play a lot of positions on the college level. But Coach P really hasn't spoken to me about any one position. He feels I can help them out anywhere. And I don't care where I play. I just want to have a chance to earn a lot of playing time. Coach P said I would get that chance."
