Trager Indoor Construction Progress

Latest project at the Cardinal Football Complex expected to be completed by December 1

Construction on the Trager Center Indoor Practice Facility, which began in late May, is progressing rapidly. The roof on the new facility is nearly complete, new walkways are in place and the exterior brick work is underway.

The indoor practice facility will feature 120-yard FieldTurf field, 100-meter four-lane sprint track, pole vault and long jump pits, as well as, batting cages for both baseball and softball. It's also equipped for the soccer, field hockey and lacrosse teams to use.

The 90,068 square foot facility will have 85,440 square feet of playing surface with 5,168 square feet of building support, consisting of restroom facilities, offices and a lobby. The facility will have a clear width of 202 feet, a clear length of 402 feet and will stand 65 feet tall.

The Trager Center, an $8 million project, is the result of a $2 million lead gift of the Trager Family of Republic Bank and many other supporting gifts. The facility is expected to be completed by December 2005.
