The No. 22 Cardinals began on the field preparations for this weekend's contest against visiting North Carolina on Tuesday and ITV returned with a few notes and pictures from the week's first work.
Sophomore outside linebacker Preston Smith, who made his first career start against Florida Atlantic and led the team with 7 tackles, including a sack, continued to run with the first unit on Tuesday. Nate Harris and Abe Brown round out the current first group, while Brandon Johnson, Lamar Myles and Malik Jackson are receiving the majority of the reps with the number two squad.
While is currently listed as questionable for this weekend's game against North Carolina, sophomore tight end Gary Barnidge, who is rehabbing an ankle injury suffered early in the South Florida game, began running on Tuesday and seemed to do so with little difficulty.
True freshman offensive lineman Brian Roche continues to get closer to being at full strength for the first time since he broke his leg earlier in the year. He continues to work with the U of L training staff and is running well and his mobility is improving.
