Photos and notes from the 22nd-ranked Cardinals Wednesday practice as they continue to prepare for Saturday's game against North Carolina
Louisville senior receiver Broderick Clark, who was injured during the opening kick return against Oregon State on week two of the season, continues to rehab his injury and is not expected to see action this weekend when the No. 22 Cardinals host North Carolina. Dressed in shorts and a t-shirt on Wednesday, Clark continued to work with the U of L training staff during Wednesday's practice and did not participate in contact drills.
Tight end Gary Barnidge went through a light practice on Wednesday and continues to be questionable for Saturday's game against North Carolina.
After receiving his first career start against Florida Atlantic, when he responded with 4 tackles, including two for a loss and a sack, Adrian Grady continues to play well. It appears as if the strong outing has increased the confidence of the redshirt freshman defensive tackle.
Sophomore outside linebacker Preston Smith has also appeared to have benefited from a strong outing against Florida Atlantic. Smith, who also made his first career start and lead the team in tackles in the 61-10 win over FAU, is soft spoken off the field, but seems to be developing a leadership role.
It looks as if Brandon Johnson, who started the previous three games at outside linebacker, is reacting well the change in the lineup and could see additional action this Saturday.
