6-9 Louisville commit Derrick Caracter has transferred from St. Patrick's in Elizabeth, NJ to prep power Notre Dame Academy in Fintchburg, MA. Why the sudden change a month and half into the school year for the likely McDonald's All-American? Inside The Ville has the answer.

Quoting several sources close to 6-9 Derrick Caracter,'s Jeff Goodman reports that the Louisville commit has left St. Patrick's and has enrolled at Notre Dame Prep in Fintchburg, Mass.

Sources told Inside The Ville Tuesday that the reason for the move is that Caracter and his family believe Notre Dame Academy will best help him gain collegiate academic eligibility.

Caracter will team 6-4 guard Paul Harris, a Syracuse commit, and 6-7 forward Lezar Heyward, a Marquette commit. Both Caracter and Harris rank among's Top 20 players nationally.
