When the 2005 high school football season kicked off in late August, Southwestern (KY) High School's Josh Minton said that he wanted to put the recruiting process aside for a few months and focus on his senior season. Now seven games in, the Scout.com 4-star defensive end prospect, told Inside The Ville that despite the current 3-4 record that he believe's that the team is headed in the right direction.

This weekend, Southwestern hosts Taylor County in an important game that the home team is expected to win.

Taylor County's power, up-the-middle, running attack should translate into a more than usual active game for the 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end.

"I hope so," he said. "Most teams don't run on my side. It's been like that for the entire season."

Off the field, Minton continues to receive considerable attention from college's throughout the region. With so many options available, the All-State performer isn't ready to rule out anyone just yet.

"I've thought about it a little bit," he explained. "I wouldn't say that I really have a favorite yet. I'm not really ready to discuss a set of school's as favorites. I haven't planned any official visits yet, but I do plan on taking all five."

Minton also added that he is near certain of at least two school's that will receive official visits later this year.

"I'm pretty sure that I'll take visits to Kentucky and Louisville, but there will be some others too."
