Senior DE Elvis Dumervil recorded his eighth forced fumble of the season, which ties an NCAA record for forced fumbles in a season. He tied Dwight Freeney of Syracuse and Quintin Mickell of Boise State. It was the sixth game this season that Dumervil recorded a sack. With two and half on Saturday, Dumervil also broke the Big East and U of L records for sacks in a season with 19.
Sophomore quarterback Brian Brohm completed 21 of 26 pass attempts for 303 yards, the forth 300-yard performance of his career, which ties him with his brother and current QB coach Jeff Brohm for fifth-place in school history for career 300-yard games. His .808 completion percentage is tied for fifth best single-game effort ever at U of L.
Junior RB Michael Bush added three more touchdowns, the seventh straight game he has tallied two or more rushing touchdowns in a game. His 18 rushing scores are now third in school history. He has 31 career rushing touchdowns, good for second all-time in school history.
Bush rushed for 127 yards on 17 carries, the fourth time he rushed for 100 yards or more in a game this season and the seventh time in his career.
