Rodney Gnat update

Rodney Gnat, a 6-4, 225-pound defensive lineman from Florida, is one of Louisville's top prospects this year. Gnat currently lists the Cardinals among his trio of favorites, and explains what he likes about Bobby Petrino's program.

Rodney Gnat is a DE/LB from the first coast area of the Sunshine State. He currently lists three schools at the top of his list.

"I like Minnesota, Louisville, South Florida, UConn, Indiana and Ball State. Minnesota, Louisville and USF are my favorites. I have offers from all those except Minnesota and when I send more tape they'll send me an offer," Rodney Gnat said.

What stands out about the leading trio?

Minnesota: "I just like their up-tempo defense and they let their guys have fun and fly around."

Louisville: "On the DL they do a lot of stunts and creative things. They're also one of the top programs in the country and I could play early."

South Florida: "They're a pretty good school and I like their criminal justice program. They are an upcoming team and I think they could be top 25 in a couple of years."

Which position is he being recruited at primarily?

"Some schools recruiting me are thinking about moving to a 3-4 next year and they see me coming in as a LB that can come up and put his hand down. Most are recruiting me at defensive end though."

Gnat has set his first visit to Louisville on November 11th.
