Owensboro's Wimsatt planning official visits

6'2, 220-pound prospect Tyler Wimsatt of Owensboro High School, who racked up over 1,500 all-purpose yards this fall, told Inside The Ville that he'll scheudle his official visits soon

This past weekend Owensboro High School fell in the first round of the 4A state playoffs, meaning that rising senior prospect Tyler Wimsatt's season came to a much earlier end than he had hoped. Playing quarterback and running back, Wimsatt racked up over 1,500 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns.

"I had almost 200 yards altogether in our last game," he said.

With the season now over, Wimsatt will turn his attention more towards the recruiting process.

"I'll probably take my official visits pretty soon," said Wimsatt. "I have set any of them up yet, but I probably visit the one's that have offered me."

Ball State, Kentucky, Louisville and Ohio have extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect, but Wimsatt says that he currently doesn't favor one over another.

"I don't have a favorite right now," explained Wimsatt, who has made unofficial visits with both Louisville and Kentucky. "Louisville has real high interest in me right now, but I need to take my visits so I can know more about all of them."

Wimsatt, who also participates in track, is looking to find a school that offers his intended study, as well as a strong environment.

"I want to see how I fit in with the community at each place when I take my visit," he said. "I plan on taking sports management in college and all of the coaches have told me that it's available, so I want to see what the school is like too."

Wimsatt, who was an All-District and All-Big 8 performer as a junior, was a preseason selection to the Tremendous 26.
