Deantwan ‘Peanut' Whitehead, rated as the nation's No.3 defensive end prospect by Scout.com, has had the date of his official visit to Louisville change a few times before, but the 5-star prospect told InsideTheVille.com on Tuesday that nothing had changed since our previous report.
"I'm keeping it on November 26th," he said of his upcoming official trip to Louisville. "[U of L] asked me about changing it to December 10th and I thought they were talking about doing it earlier this month, so I just kept it the same."
Whitehead's senior season came to end this past weekend when his Birmingham (Ala.) West End High School squad fell in the first round of the playoffs. The 6-foot-6, 245-pound All-American candidate finished his season by turning in the type of performance that he has done all season.
"I had 12 tackles, 2 sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery," he said. "I actually caused and recovered the same fumble."
With the season over, Whitehead will start to whittle his long list of schools down, something that he hopes to accomplish next week.
"I still don't have any favorites," he explained. "I'm going to try to cut my list to at least 30 next week. It's hard to pick just five schools."
With a career double-double average, Whitehead is considering a return to the hardwood for his senior season.
