U of L still in the running for Brandon Heath

The University of Louisville remains in the hunt for four-star Florida safety Brandon Heath, but will have to make up some ground on his two leaders during his upcoming official visit.

WR/S Brandon Heath has narrowed his list to five finalists but it appears two of those schools have a bit of a lead at this time. Who are they?

"I still like Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisville, North Carolina State and Minnesota. I don't really have a leader but Tennessee and West Virginia are at the top," Brandon Heath said.

What sticks out to him in regards to the Vols and the Mountaineers?

Tennessee: "I like the coaching staff and I talk to Coach Fulmer on the phone. He says he'd love to have me up there with all the DB's they're losing."

West Virginia: "I like the environment and the coaching staff up there. I met all the players and the staff when I went for camp and I just like them all."

Heath has set one visit and rescheduled another.

"I go to Louisville on December 15th. I'm going to Tennessee in January. I had to reschedule that one."

As is the case with most top prospects around the country, recruiting has really began to pick up for Heath.

"Minnesota came by the school today and Tennessee will be here tomorrow for an in-home visit. Coach Graham is coming to see me."

It's no surprise to see the attention he's garnering after a senior season as strong as he had.

"This year I had 32 catches for 520 yards and 10 touchdowns. On defense I had 72 tackles and 8 interceptions. I also had 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks."
