Those that follow Louisville football recruiting were forced to wait for news on how Peanut's trip to the River City went, as the Birmingham (Ala.) West High School prospect turned his attention to class work and ignored the distractions that the recruiting process can often create.
"I was trying to finish a research paper on the human body for my anatomy class," Whitehead explained.
While in Louisville, Whitehead spent time visiting with the entire U of L coaching staff, fellow recruits and current Cardinals. He enjoyed a breakfast with the coaching staff, along with U of L Athletic Director Tom Jurich and he stood at the mid-field logo, alongside Tim Hawthorne, as the team entered Papa John's Cardinal Stadium through the Crunch Zone prior to the team's final home game.
"I really enjoyed my trip up there," said the 6-foot-6, 245-pound Whitehead. "I got to hang out with the players a lot. They spoiled me. They treated me like a king. The whole thing was great."
Whitehead was scheduled to make an official visit with Arkansas this past weekend, but was unable to and has rescheduled for January. While he has yet to schedule any other official visits, he is welcoming a number of coaches into his home.
"Louisville's pretty high on my list, but I don't have any favorites really," he said. "I'll probably come up with a shorter list of school's in January."
Whitehead is currently scheduled to make his college announcement on national signing day as part of the FOX Sports South program, ‘Countdown to Signing Day', with Scout.com's Jamie Newberg and Scott Kennedy.
