Sophomore Walker off to great start

Super sophomore Martez Walker is off to an excellent start this season. The Louisville commit has led Central Park Christian to a 10-2 record and is averaging 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.

Walker was outstanding recently with a 25 point, 9 rebound, 6 assist effort in a 96-80 victory over Convenant High of Marietta, GA. In the return game against Concenant, an 88-77 Central Park win, Walker led the Eagles with 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists. He followed that up with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in an 88-43 win over Sound Doctrine.

"He's making plays and he's really shooting the ball well right now," Larry Walker told InsideTheVille.com. "He's just trying to get better and work on shooting the ball coming off screens better."

In a recent 56-45 loss to Northside in the Lowdown Classic, Walker out-scored 6-9 Kentucky signee Perry Stevenson 17-12. Walker also scored 12 points in a 68-57 win over Nacogdoches and Oklahoma-bound Damion James, a talented 6-8 forward ranked among the top prospects in the nation.

Walker is regarded as one of the top players in the Class of 2008.
