Cards offer junior defensive end

Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ) defensive end prospect Justin Trattou is a former teammate of current Cardinals Darius Mann and Brian Roche and already holds a handful of impressive scholarship offers

Justin Trattou, a talented defensive end from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, N.J., currently holds six scholarship offers including one he received over the weekend while in South Bend for Notre Dame's mammoth junior day.

"I went to Notre Dame over the weekend and they offered me," Trattou said. "The trip went very well, I liked it a lot. I got to meet Coach (Charlie) Weis, which was a great experience for me. I look up to him a lot, he's a very good coach."

Notre Dame is not alone in their pursuit for one of the top defensive lineman in the Northeast.

"I have offers from Notre Dame, Boston College, Louisville, and coach Toal told me that Duke and North Carolina offered also. I don't have any favorites, but I like the Big Ten and the ACC, teams like Notre dame, Penn State, Florida State, I like them."

Coach (Greg) Toal has had his share of major college football players, that experience is invaluable to young prospects like Justin Trattou.

"Having him around definitely helps. He is the best coach around. He would do anything to help his players. I have a great respect for him."

The 6-foot-4, 250 pound, standout tallied 95 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and one blocked punt as a junior.
