Junior LB hopes to get Louisville offer soon

Linebacker Bryce McNaul is one of the top junior football prospects in the state of Minnesota. The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder, from Senior High in Eden Prairie, Minn., put up monster numbers this past season and several schools are starting to show interest. McNaul talks favorites and upcoming junior days.

"I don't have any scholarship offers right now." Bryce McNaul said. "I recently spoke to Coach (Tony) Levine and he told me that Louisville wanted to be the first school to offer me a scholarship.

"Most of the coaches are on vacation after signing day, so I'm waiting to hear from Coach Levine and Coach Petrino.

"Ohio State and Iowa are sending the most mail right now. I'm also getting a lot of mail from Notre Dame, Northwestern, Georgia and Vanderbilt.

"My favorites are Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida, Boston College, Northwestern, Stanford and Louisville."

McNaul had 143 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, four caused fumbles, two sacks and a fumble recovery that was returned for a touchdown. He earned all-state honors. McNaul comes from good stock. His father, Bruce McNaul, played at Moeller High in Cincinnati under Gerry Faust.

What are McNaul's plans for the near future?

"I'm going to Northwestern for a junior day on March 4th," McNaul said. "I've already been to a junior day at Notre Dame and I was just invited to Wisconsin's up coming junior day at the end of February.

"I'm not sure on camps yet. I'm still trying to sort all of that stuff out. I'm going to see who shows the most interest in April and May, I'll have a better idea on camps after that."

McNaul is also solid in the classroom, carrying a 3.4 GPA.
