"I'm going to walk-on at Louisville, unless I get a scholarship offer somewhere else," said Johnson, who is a recruitable athlete until he enrolls in college or signs a Letter of Intent.
As a senior, the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Johnson helped the Western program to a 10-3 record and a spot in the third round of the Class AA state playoffs. He pulled in over 800 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, while also recording six interceptions as a defensive back.
In addition to playing in his hometown, Johnson said that the possibility to play for a winning program helped make his decision.
"I felt like I wanted to be apart of what is going on over there," said of the Cardinal program. "I'm looking forward to it."
Johnson is expected to join the Louisville program when players report later this summer.
