Cards have competition for Stuart Miller

After making an unofficial visit to Louisville last week, Cardinals assistant coach Steve Masiello made the treck east Monday night to watch Middlesboro High School standout Stuart Miller in action. Miller didn't disappoint either. That's probably one reason why U of L's in-state rival is making a late push for the six-foot guard. has the latest.

Louisville assistant coach Steve Masiello was in attendance Monday night to watch Middlesboro standout Stuart Miller in action against Cumberland.

Miller, a 6-0 guard known for his deadly three-pointing shooting, didn't disappoint, leading his team to a come from behind 62-58 win. Miller broke the state record for most three-point field goals in a season during the game (166), making 5-10 3's. He scored 32 points and hit 8-8 free throws down the stretch to preserve the win for his team in the 52nd District Tournament.

Gary Miller, the players father who also serves as an assistant coach at Middlesboro, told that the University of Kentucky has invited his son to attend the Wildcats game this weekend against the Florida Gators.

Even with Kentucky showing late interest, the Miller's appear to be very high on Louisville. Miller and his father made an unofficial visit to Louisville last week for the Cardinals 65-53 win over DePaul and gave the trip a glowing review.

"If you're a shooter, Coach Pitino is impossible to beat," Gary Miller said.
