The Gamecocks advanced to play the Cardinals with a 65-62 win at Cincinnati Thursday night. South Carolina trailed the depleted Bearcats (UC played without starters Jihad Muhammad and James White) most of the game, before seizing control late in the contest. Louisville had an impressive 74-56 win over Missouri State Wednesday to advance to the semifinals.
Old Dominion (24-9) will face Michigan (21-10) at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28. Louisville and South Carolina will tangle immediately following that game. The winners will advance to the NIT finals Thursday, March 30.
Louisville's appearance in the NIT semifinals is the schools first since 1985. South Carolina won the NIT championship in 2004-05.
The NIT semifinal will be televised live on ESPN2.
