"I went to Alabama's A-Day game, and it was great," said Larry Smith from Prattville, (Ala.).
Smith received the tour and enjoyed watching the Tide offense.
"We were shown around the whole campus," he said. "I saw the academic center, the 100-yard indoor practice field and all five practice fields. Everything was really nice."
"The game was cool. The offense dominated the defense. It was nice to see all the different players out there after all the guys they lost from last year's team. I spoke to Bobby Greenwood and Travis McCall [former Prattville standouts] for a little bit."
When asked his overall impressions of his visit Smith replied, "I really like Alabama a lot. After going to A-Day and speaking with the coaches, I could see myself playing there."
Smith passed for over 2,000 yards with 18 touchdowns and only two interceptions during his junior season. His performance and athletic ability has landed the 6-2, 200-pound gunslinger his first scholarship offer.
"I received my first offer from Louisville about two weeks ago," Smith said. "I was real excited about it. When the offer came in the mail I started yelling. I went and told my mom. She was real happy."
"I am going to Louisville April 21 for their spring game. I spoke to coach [Joe] Whitt, Jr. He talked to me about the future I would have at Louisville. He said I could be the back-up to the starting quarterback, and when I am a sophomore I would have the chance to start."
Smith will particiapate in the Scout.com All-American Combine in Tuscaloosa April 29.
