Male Traditional (Ky.) High School prospect Douglas Beaumont collected his first scholarship offer in early February from Kentucky. On Wednesday, the 5-foot-9, 175-pound all-purpose back made 90 minute drive east to watch the Wildcats spring practice.

During his short visit in Lexington, Beaumont received favorable feedback from the UK coaches. "They told me that they were really impressed from my film," said Beaumont.

The All-State performer visited hometown Louisville on Sunday morning and watched the Cardinals conduct their first scrimmage of the spring season. Beaumont also plans on making an unofficial visit with U of L on Saturday for the program's Junior Day.

Notre Dame, South Carolina and Tennessee are among the others expressing interest.

Last fall, Beaumont rushed for over 1,100 yards and 28 touchdowns, while also pulling in 54 catches for 881 yards and an additional 7 scores.

"I think I'll have the best line to be behind since I've been there," Beaumont said of his early impressions on the '06 Male High School squad.

Beaumont will attend the All-American Combine at Louisville on May 20.
